I'm back again!

Hey everybody! It's Stewart! I bet a lot of you were wondering where I've been all this time. And I bet a lot of you were probably thinking, "Uh-oh. What sent Stewart to the hospital this time?" Haha! I do go to the hospital a lot, but that's not where I was the past few days. I bet you'll never guess where I was. But try just for fun!... What did you guess? Haha! WRONG! I was in South Dakota! I was trying to go to the hospital in Wisconsin to visit my grandmother, but somehow I got the gates confused at the airport, got on the wrong plane, and didn't realize where I was until the stewardess said, "Welcome to South Dakota!" I guess I should have taken off my headphones before I got on the plane, but that Patricia Cornwell book I was listening to was REALLY good! Anyway, it took me a few days to get home because my roommate Chuck ended up having to drive out and get me. (He was not a happy camper, but I drew him some cartoons and he's better now, I think.) Well, hope you like the new cartoon!

Sincerely,

Stewart M. Filbert

I'm back!

Hey everybody! Do you remember who I am? My name's Stewart in case during my long hiatus you forgot! I'm sorry to all you new fans who just joined and thought, "Finally, a daily comic about oranges I can depend on!" Well, normally I'm pretty dependable as my first two followers will tell you. Hi first two followers! More fans are joining the ranks! I think you might be able to make friends! Maybe someday we can all have a mini-Oranges convention together. We could have it in a room down at the Day's Inn here. It's pretty nice. Anyway, sorry for the long delay in getting a post up, but no time to explain now. Hope you like this comic!

Sincerely,
Stewart M. Filbert

Fifty comics about Oranges!

Hey everyone! Stewart here with some exciting news for Oranges are Funny! Today we reached a real milestone with the fiftieth orange comic!! I can't believe I've finished so many! That's not even counting all the practice ones I do before I publish a finished comic. Sometimes these comics take me four or five tries before I get them just right. Believe me, drawing a round circle is a lot harder than it looks! Well, as we trek on into the next fifty, I hope you are as excited as I am about all the funny moments to come! Maybe-MAYBE- someday I'll have enough to make a whole book of just comics about ORANGES!! I know, can you imagine? That would be HILARIOUS!! See you tomorrow!

Sincerely,

Stewart M. Filbert

Hey everyone. It’s Stewart. So yesterday you probably noticed that I didn’t post a new cartoon. I suppose I owe everyone an explanation for this unprofessional behavior. The truth is, I had every intention of putting one up, but while I was on the couch watching Wheel of Fortune, I heard what I thought was a puppy crying outside. Naturally, I raced outside my apartment to find what was causing this poor animal to weep (and hoping to maybe find a new pet, too!) I could hear the whimpers coming from the alley behind my building, and once I got back there I found not a puppy but a baby possum trapped under an old medicine cabinet left for trash. It may be a little unorthodox, but I thought, “I bet having a possum is a lot like having a dog!” So I tried to move the medicine cabinet to save him, but when I did, that little possum turned and ATTACKED!! You would never guess that possums have teeth like that or that they would clamp down and hold on for SO LONG! Talk about pain! I had to get ten stitches in my right hand! But on the kind of funny side (I always like to look at the funny side), I look like a Frankenstein monster if you just look at my right hand! It’s pretty hilarious. : ) Anyway, hope you like today’s cartoon!!

Sincerely,

Stewart M. Filbert

Happy Memorial Day!

Hi, veterans!  I'm Stewart!  Just wanted to say happy Memorial Day to all you folks who are or have been part of the armed forces.  I always wanted to fly an F-14 Tomcat in the Air Force, but when they switched to the F-16, I just wasn't interested anymore.  Now I'm just a veteran of the war of life!  Let me tell you, some days it's a BATTLE just to get to work!  Just last week I had to be in my office to answer phones and I could not catch a bus to save my LIFE!  Every one was either too full or going east instead of west.  When one finally did come, I had to wait like five minutes for some guy in a wheel chair to get on!  I didn't mind sacrificing some time for the handi-capped, of course.  It's just my little part of the daily battle to win the WAR!  I wonder if HE was a veteran?  I bet he was.  In that case, wheelchair man, if you ever read this blog (I think I mentioned it to you as I passed you on the bus), may God bless you for your service to our great country!  Enjoy today's comic!

Sincerely,
Stewart M. Filbert
